Multi-Use Courts
The High Court area, which houses our multi-use courts, is a shared space designed to accommodate a variety of activities including basketball, volleyball, futsal, racquet sports, fitness programming, and organized league play. Due to this flexibility, courts in this area are frequently reserved for leagues, programs, or special events.
When leagues are in session, court access may be limited or unavailable for open play. Members are encouraged to review the court schedule linked above or check with the Front Desk for real-time availability.
Racquetball Courts
The Rec Center offers two indoor racquetball courts for recreational and league play.
Racquetball Court 2 (primary court)
Court reservations are required and are limited to 90 minutes per session. Reservations can be made by calling the Front Desk at 319-295-2552.
Racquetball Court 1
For racquetball use, Court 1 is designated as a Challenge Court to be used on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved.
A basketball hoop is installed on the back wall of the this court and is to be used for practicing technique and shooting only. No pick-up games, dunking or throwing balls at the glass allowed.
Racquetball has priority on Court 1 Mondays through Fridays from:
- 11:30am – 1:00pm
- 4:30 – 7:00pm
Court availability may be impacted during league play or special events.
Court Access and Safety
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all members, please review the following requirements before using the indoor courts:
Eye Protection (Recommended)
Protective eyewear is strongly recommended while using the racquetball courts to reduce the risk of injury. Eye protection is available to borrow at the front desk if needed.
Non-Marking Shoes (Required)
Only non-marking athletic shoes are permitted on the racquetball and high court floors. This helps protect the court surface and maintain quality playing conditions.
Court Access
Racquetball courts remain locked. Members must check in at the front desk to receive a key prior to use. This allows staff to confirm proper footwear before granting access.
